Houseguests
An original play by Jessica Hoffmann Davis
The stillness of a couple’s lakeside cottage is hilariously disrupted by a long lost friend who visits with an eclectic family and an awful lot of baggage. They invited themselves and stayed longer than expected. But these houseguests would remind their hosts of the timeliness of relationships and the timelessness of love.

June 10th – July 12th
Young @ Art Theater Workshop
This summer workshop is designed to familiarize young actors with the language, stories, characters and ideas in Shakespeare's plays. Shakespeare is not meant to be feared...he was a playwright, who played in a playhouse...so we will be doing a lot of playing. Shakespeare meant his works to be performed not just read so we will be “doing” Shakespeare as well as “doing” his time period as well. Participants will learn to do an Elizabethan dance as well as how to use "Air" broadswords for the fight sequences. Sessions will incorporate voice, movement, and acting, which allow students to explore Shakespeare's text emotionally, physically, and intellectually. The workshop will culminate in two performances of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). Registration: $175. Please click the following link fo#r the Young at Art Registration Form. The Prisoner of Second Avenue by Neil Simon
Mel Edison is a well-paid executive of a high-end Manhattan firm, which has suddenly hit the skids, and he gets the ax. His wife Edna takes a job to tide them over, then she too is sacked. Compounded by the air-pollution killing his plants, and with the walls of the apartment being paper-thin, allowing him a constant earfull of his neighbors private lives, things can't seem to get any worse...Then he's robbed, and his psychiatrist dies with $23,000 of his money. Mel does the only thing left for him to do-he has a nervous breakdown and it's the best thing that ever happened to him...
