CELEBRATING OUR 5th YEAR!

JULY 4th (Fri), 11 a.m.:

Come celebrate the Fourth of July with the LCT! All are welcome to participate in creating a Little Church Theater FLOAT for the Ashland 4th of July Parade.

July 6th (Sun), 5-7p.m.:

COMMUNITY ART EXHIBIT OPENING - enjoy various mediums of artwork from local artists including painting, sculpture, photography, and embroidery. Wine and appetizers provided by local restaurants. Free.

JULY 8th (Tues), 7:45 p.m.:

Evening of IMPROV at ROCKYWOLD-DEEPHAVEN CAMP. To stay at Rockywold-Deephaven, visit www.rdcsquam.com. All members of the community are welcome to participate.

JULY 11th (Fri), 7:30 p.m.:

DANCE your heart out to fun classics as played by our local band POSTAGE DUE, whose members include Holderness Postmaster Larry Mowbray, Lisa Lovett, Rich Cocchiaro and Galen Beach. This is a fundraiser for The Little Church Theater. Tickets $10.

JULY 14th, 16th, 18th (M, W, F) 10a.m.-12 p.m.:

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP with FRANZ NICOLAY. Explore the aesthetics of creating a well-balanced and visually pleasing photograph through the introduction of and practicing of basic compositional skills and digital Photoshop techniques. $75 per person.

JULY 15th (Tues) 7:30 p.m.:

BYOB BINGO! Fun for the entire family. Cash prizes. $5 for two games.

JULY 17th (Thurs) 7-9 p.m.:

STORIES and GAMES out on Moon Island with the JSLA DISCOVERY GROUP campers. To sign up for the Discovery Group, contact the Squam Lakes Association at www.squamlakes.org.

JULY 21st-25th, 9:30-11:30 a.m. & 1:30-3:30 p.m., JULY 28th-AUGUST 1st, 9:30-11:30 a.m.:

CRITTER THEATER with THE SQUAM LAKES NATURAL SCIENCE CENTER. Participants will meet live animals up-close, and then take to The Little Church Theater stage to create a “natural world” play from what they learn! Bring the family to see the environmental theater production on the last day. Visit www.nhnature.org to sign up.

JULY 24th, 25th, 26th (Thurs, Fri, Sat), 8 p.m.:

YOUNG AT ART: Original theater by Squam youth. Join us for a fun evening of drama and comedy written and acted by young local talent whose ages range from the 7th grade through college. Each piece is a creative collaboration and represents the unique perspectives of our youth. A fun evening with surprising twists. Tickets $15.

IMPROV GAMES with the HOLDERNESS RECREATION DEPARTMENT Have fun watching or participating in improvisation games. Laugh yourself silly! Tickets $5.

AUGUST 1st (Fri), 7:30 p.m.:

EVENING OF DANCE PERFORMANCE Watch performances of all types of dance including tap, jazz and modern from local professional dancers LISA TRAVIS, CAROLE ANN E. MORRISON, MEAGAN HILTZ and JULIE ROTHSCHILD. Tickets $15.

AUGUST 4th (Mon), 7:30 p.m.:

"DIRTY POLITICS" FUNDRAISER A special fundraiser with Friends of the Arts. Vote for your favorite local politician's talent as expressed in an evening of song, dance and storytelling. To ensure that your favorite politician wins, votes can be bought - definitely dirty politics! All proceeds go to benefit "Proudly We Hail!" - a LCT/FOA program that teaches fifth graders the electoral process in a fun, art-centered way. Tickets $20.

AUGUST 5th (Tues) & 7th (Thurs), 9a.m. - Noon:

DRAWING & THE VISUAL ARTS WORKSHOP with renowned local artist WOOLSEY CONOVER. Day 1: DRAWING - The theory of “drawing on the right brain”; discussion, and drawing exercises utilizing the right brain. Day 2: PAINTING/ART MAKING (Medium of the participant’s choice) - Design, Composition, Form, Color: discussion, and painting or drawing exercises utilizing right brain thinking and seeing: a still life. Participants who sign up for this two day workshop will be given a more complete outline of topics to be covered and materials to bring. $75 per person, minimum 8-10 people.

"THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST" TEASER at ROCKYWOLD-DEEPHAVEN. Get a sneak peek of our upcoming show!

AUGUST 6th (Wed), 9-11 a.m.:

CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP with THE LOON CENTER. 4-7 year olds learn all about loons from The Loon Center’s Senior Biologist Kate Taylor, make masks and put together a play about loons. $10 per child.

AUGUST 8th (Fri), 7:30 p.m.:

BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE with ART HARRIMAN! Enjoy an evening of music and songs with Art Harriman and friends. This is a fundraiser for The Little Church Theater. We are raising money to purchase cushions for the pews. Tickets $18.

AUGUST 14th, 15th, 16th (Thurs, Fri, Sat), 8 p.m.:

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde. A classic comedy about the perils of love, manners, mistaken identity and the importance of being "Ernest" - and earnest. Laughs for the entire family. Tickets $18.

AUGUST 22nd (Fri) and 23rd (Sat), 7:30 p.m.:

CABARET! See what our community can do. Laughter and fun as members of the community sing, dance and act! Always a great show! Tickets $18.
